Fishtail rising above the clouds, the blinding reflection from the blanket of snow on the Annapurna II (7937m), the way the Himalayas get lit before sunrise, and the way the October moon plays hide and seek with the mountains is all quite surreal. In the summer mornings, when you get woken by the brilliant sunshine after a heavy downpour the previous night, you’ll get treated to the sight of the lush green so full of life and the air you breathe will be intoxicatingly fresh. Amazing is also the way the villagers live their life, eating fresh from their small gardens, cold showers being the norm, and taking pleasure in things generally thought of as discomfort by the city dwellers. Up here in Sarangkot, you’re surrounded by so much exuberance and vitality that you have many opportunities to recharge yourself.
We are located in nature but also not away from people as we’re situated in a village called Sarangkot and not too far from the city, in fact we’re only a 25 minute drive to Pokhara city.
You’ll have a reliable internet service, powered by two major fiber optic providers in the region in case one of them goes down. Similarly, we also have a backup to charge your phone and laptop in case the main grid is down. Note though that in case of major thunderstorms, both Wi-Fi and power backup may go down for a couple hours. The frequency of this, though, is only a couple times a year. Instead of being bothered by it, we have now come to realize it as the cost of living in a region where nature is so active.
Our rooms at Superview Lodge are designed to cater long-term staying guests thus have access to a Wi-FI, a working desk, drawer/hanger to manage your clothes, tea/coffee maker etc. Learn more about our rooms here.
Besides the in-house restaurant that serves fresh food, there are plenty of food options in Sarangkot, and even more in the tourism capital of the country, Lakeside, that’s just a 10-minute cable car ride away or a 30-minute drive. Lakeside is a part of Pokhara where you’ll be able to find a variety of world cuisines. You also have the opportunity to eat at our onsite restaurant. Learn more about our food and menu here.
